Your Right to Data Deletion

At MediWatchers, we respect your right to control your personal data. You can request the deletion of your account and all associated data at any time. This page explains what data we store, how the deletion process works, and provides a way to submit a deletion request.

What Data Will Be Deleted

When you request account deletion, the following data will be permanently removed from our systems:

Account information — Your name, email address, password hash, and profile details
Health data — All medications, appointments, schedules, and adherence records
Family profiles — Any dependent profiles you have created
Healthcare contacts — Doctors, pharmacies, and medical transportation records
Social login connections — Any linked accounts (Facebook, Google, GitHub, Apple, LinkedIn)
Subscription data — Your billing and subscription information (payment records may be retained by Stripe as required by law)
Activity and audit logs — Login history and account activity records

Important: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your data, including medication history, appointments, and health records, will be permanently removed within 30 days of your request. Please ensure you have exported any data you wish to keep before submitting a deletion request.

How to Request Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your data through any of the following methods:

Your password is required to verify your identity before deleting your account.

I understand that account deletion is permanent and all my data, including medications, appointments, and health records, will be permanently removed.

Your data deletion request has been received.

We will verify your identity and process your request within 30 days. You will receive a confirmation email at the address you provided once your data has been deleted.

Option 2: Email Us Directly

Send a data deletion request to privacy@mediwatchers.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and include the email address associated with your account.

Option 3: Revoke Access Through Social Login Providers

If you signed up using a social login provider, you can also revoke MediWatchers' access through their settings. Note that revoking social login access will prevent future sign-ins via that provider but will not automatically delete your MediWatchers account. To fully delete your data, please also submit a deletion request using one of the methods above.

Data Deletion Timeline

You submit a deletion request through the form above, via email, or through your social login provider's settings.
We verify your identity by matching the information you provide with our records. We may contact you for additional verification.
Your account is deactivated immediately upon verification, preventing any further access.
All personal data is permanently deleted from our active systems within 30 days.
You receive a confirmation email once deletion is complete.

Data We May Retain

Certain data may be retained beyond the 30-day deletion period as required by law or legitimate business purposes:

Payment transaction records (retained by Stripe per financial regulations)
Anonymized, aggregated usage data that cannot identify you
Records required for legal compliance, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution

Facebook Users

If you connected your MediWatchers account using Facebook Login, you can request deletion of your data by:

Using the form above on this page
Removing MediWatchers from your Facebook settings (Settings → Apps and Websites → Remove App). When you remove the app, Facebook will send us an automated deletion request.
Emailing privacy@mediwatchers.com directly

In all cases, your data will be deleted within 30 days and you will receive a confirmation.
